About us

Our story

PRU Thai Kitchen & Bar is a celebration of Thai cuisine, culture, and the art of gathering. Founded by sisters Amy and Chef Nahm, PRU brings together generations of family tradition and a contemporary vision for refined Thai dining. Born and raised in Thailand, Chef Nahm has spent more than two decades cultivating her craft, earning a reputation for cuisine defined by vibrant flavors, sophisticated technique, and an unwavering commitment to authenticity. At PRU, that heritage is expressed through thoughtfully composed dishes, premium ingredients, elegant presentation, and hospitality that feels both gracious and deeply personal.

For Amy and Chef Nahm, PRU represents more than a restaurant — it is an expression of their shared values and a place designed for meaningful experiences. Every element, from the cuisine and cocktails to the atmosphere and service, is intentionally considered to create a dining experience worthy of lingering over. Whether joining us for an intimate dinner, an evening of cocktails, a celebration, or a private gathering, guests are invited to discover a sophisticated interpretation of Thailand where culinary heritage, modern elegance, and heartfelt hospitality come together.

Two Sisters. One Shared Vision.
Authentic Thai Cuisine.

Chef Nahm

Co-Founder

Chef Nahm's story is one shaped by lineage, care, and a deep reverence for the way food brings people together. Born and raised in Thailand, in a region known for its rich culinary heritage, she was formed by a culture where cooking is woven into daily life as an expression of family, tradition, and love.

Over the past 20 years, Chef Nahm has shaped Nahm Fine Thai Cuisine into one of Alpharetta's most cherished dining destinations, creating a restaurant experience rooted in authenticity, artistry, and heartfelt hospitality. Known for her intuitive and soulful approach to cooking, she has long honored the richness of Thai cuisine through dishes that balance vibrant flavor, timeless technique, and a sense of warmth that guests can feel from the moment they arrive.

Her cuisine reflects both heritage and refinement — layering aromatic herbs, vibrant spices, and time-honored traditions into plates that feel elevated, comforting, and deeply expressive of where she comes from. Every dish carries intention. Every detail reflects care. Through Nahm, she created not simply a restaurant, but a lasting reflection of culture, memory, and the beauty of gathering.
That same spirit continues through PRU Thai Kitchen & Bar, a natural extension of her vision and one created in partnership with her sister. If Nahm reflects the depth of her legacy, PRU offers another expression of it — fresh, contemporary, and rooted in the same devotion to tradition, hospitality, and shared experience.

Through both Nahm and PRU, Chef Nahm continues to honor her heritage while evolving its expression, offering guests more than a meal. She offers a sense of place, a feeling of belonging, and a dining experience shaped by story, soul, and the enduring power of food made with love.

Amy

co-founder

Amy's journey to PRU began long before the doors opened, shaped by a path that, at first, looked very different. She built a successful career as a software engineer, earning two master's degrees and reaching a level of accomplishment many spend years working toward. By her mid-30s, she had stepped away, having achieved what she once set out to do. Yet even in that season, there was a quiet sense that something was missing.

It was not about what she had accomplished, but about what she had not yet created.

What called to her was not another title or milestone, but connection. A desire to create a space where people could gather, share, and feel a sense of ease and belonging. That pull led her back to what had always been a constant in her life—family, food, and the rhythms of Thai culture that shaped her upbringing.
Together with her sister, Chef Nahm, Amy began to bring PRU Thai Kitchen & Bar to life. What they created is not only a restaurant, but a reflection of their shared story, expressed through food, hospitality, and the feeling of being welcomed in. The space carries a sense of familiarity, where each dish is prepared with care and every detail is considered, allowing guests to experience Thai cuisine in a way that feels both elevated and approachable.

For Amy, PRU is a labor of love one that reflects a shift toward something more connected and more meaningful. In the energy of the room, the rhythm of service, and the smiles of guests as they gather and return, she found a renewed sense of purpose. It is through this space that she continues to create, not for achievement, but for the experience it offers and the community it brings together.
